TEHRAN, July 31 (MNA) -- Iran should adopt wise policies toward the regional developments and improve its relations with Muslim countries, Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here on Tuesday.

“In the country, we should try to remain united” and factional interests should not divide the country’s revolutionary elements, he added.
He added Iran is in a special situation and the hegemonic powers are seeking to hinder the country’s progress in nuclear science and other high-tech fields.
The U.S. secretaries of state and defense are in the region and are “openly and insolently talking against Iran and say we want to strengthen regional countries against Iran,” Rafsanjani said as he visited the Rudehen University, northeast Tehran, to inaugurate several educational centers and infrastructure projects.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates kicked off a regional tour in Egypt Tuesday seeking to unite Arab allies against Iran, AFP reported.
The U.S. has announced military aid packages worth more than $60bn for Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other key Arab allies in the Gulf.
Rafsanjani said the U.S. is seeking to sell its arms and also “provoke Arab countries against Iran.
